My Eye Story
My name is LaTerra. On Feb. 8th 2009 I flew to panama to get my eye color changed. Why? Well i just thought that it would make life better. I was convinced that it would give me more confidence in my career. I found out that this procedure was possible on Youtube a year ago. After no one responded to my emails (from the www.newcoloriris.com site) I waited a while and tried again months after finding out that it was indeed possible.
I got in touch with a man name Richard (the owner of the site and supposed secretary of the Dr.) I asked plenty of questions and research everything i thought i needed to know about the procedure. I didn’t find anything negative (No road blocks) and decided to get it done. As the day was coming i kept in contact with Richard -feeling empty, like all the questions i was asking him weren’t being answered completely. I questioned his professionalism but than started questioning myself. I became wrapped up in the date to have it done that i didn’t realize- why was he and the finance company were keeping in contact (especially, if he and the doctor are suppose to be not connected- which i didn’t know till after the procedure.) – I didn’t realize that the “testimonials” on the website were fake- I didn’t realize that he charged me an illegal $251 just for him to be able to take money off of my credit card, because he didn’t except money to an account-in which, if the loan company worked with him everyday should have known already, instead of waiting a week before the surgery to have me order a credit card and email him the number because he doesn’t take checks -I didn’t realize that i was being CONNED.
IT GETS BETTER
I flew to Panama City, Panama. There i met Dr. Khan. He was nice, but their was definitely something sneaky about him. Before the surgery i told him what color i wanted. (I left that information with Richard who was suppose to relay the information with him already.) I was told that the color blue ( Grayish) was going to be darker on me than it was on Mark. I was okay with that. While, laying on the operating table i asked if i could see the lens. He said “NO.” I left it at that and went back to the hotel blinded by the pain and aftermath of the surgery. He had some nurse/lady help me for a few days, because my vision was blurry. I had this white cloud-ish like thing covering the inside of my eye. 
(similar to vapor that rises to the top of a closed bottle.) He prescribed a medication that took that away. At first glance, i thought, i looked like that “national geographic woman” 
After the blur cleared up. I was like what the hell did he do to my eye’s. They were blue. Not grayish. I looked like a VAMPIRE.
Suppose -to look- real- my ass.
During the time that i was seeing better, i was home already. I called Dr. Khan because my eyes were extremely red and in pain. He said “I told you, I told you” and hung up in my ear. ( He was mad that i didn’t buy additional eye drops there and hide them in my suitcase.) If i wasn’t suppose to be dependant on any medication what did i need to buy them for?
I began doing more research. (Stalker like research) I found the real names of people who got the procedure, and saw that they were still in pain months after, from their Myspace messages.
I went to medical sites and with my own judgement- found that where the lenses are implanted, it’s keeping the eye from cleansing itself.
THEN, March 13, 2009- The Doctors tv show aired and they were explaining the procedure saying that it was basically BAD, and that Dr. Khan was more worried about money then the health of his patients. Dr. Assil was on the show explaining the risks of the surgery. I contacted his office and they sent me a copy of the show to post on my site. Click HERE to watch.
So, me being me. I posted a video on Youtube right away warning people. There after, 2 other people spoke up about their eye as well. 4 others i have spoken with me personally and they are in bad shape. The ones who won’t posted video’s say that they are afraid that they may have to go back to the doctor and get them removed. Others have become emotional attached to the color.
ME well, I am all the way around screwed. From the finance company to my eye looking crazy blue to my eye hurting like hell and always being real red like I’m on drugs. I never been much of a headache person but lately I have to take IBuprofein daily to make it through the day. I have noticed a greenish ring forming around my eye and the white of my eye is turning yellow. The lens looks as though it’s breaking apart. And, the question people ask me a lot is can you see your natural eye color under the lens? Yes you can.
Those are signs of glaucoma.
I’ve been to 3 Ophthalmologist.
None know what to do.
It hurts to think what it would be like to never see my daughter face. I feel so selfish towards her.
Currently i’m working with a lawyer. But, Richard is no-where to be found. Can’t even tie him to the website. MedLoanFinance ( the loan company that he works with daily, say that they can’t find his last name.)
UPDATE 7/19/09 – Today the doctor said that I have a “Oval Pupil”. I have never heard of that before. Somehow the lens is laying on top of my iris and is stretching the pupil. I will do more research and tell you all what this is exactly.
UPDATE 7/20/09- Richard has slipped up. We now know where he is located.
